The Wild star – and Gone Girl producer – is set to bring to the screen an adaptation of the upcoming novel Luckiest Girl Alive by Jessica Knoll, the story of a 28-year-old New York with a seemingly perfect life who must deal with a long-buried trauma from her past after it decides to rear its ugly head back up.
Witherspoon is not expected to star in the project.
Luckiest Girl Alive will be published next month.
