Monty Clift the Way of HBO Goes

Looks like HBO will be a haven to another hard-to-make film with a gay (or gay-ish) subject matter.

Matt Bomers long-gestating Montgomery Clift project is pulling a Behind the Candelabra of sorts and will now be made as a for-the-premium cabler biopic.

Love Is Strange writers Ira Sachs and Mauricio Zacharias are reworking the script for the film, which is n.k.a. Monty Clift and is to touch on the From Here to Eternity’s anti-Hollywood-studio-contract crusade, his struggles with his sexual orientation, and the devastating car accident that haunted him until his death.

I smell an Emmy!

Especially since Bomer did not get as we all thought that he would last summer, for his work on HBO’s The Normal Heart.
