A Father That Tries

Just because hes turning heads on Cinemax as the star of The Knick it don’t mean that Clive Owen has given up on his big-screen work.

The actor is currently at work on The Confirmation, the directorial debut of Nebraska screenwriter Bob Nelson.

Owen will be seen as the estranged father to an 8-year-old boy (St. Vincents Jaeden Lieberher) with whom he spends two days while the kid’s mom (Maria Bello) and her new husband (Matthew Modine) are away.

Which, of course, translates into the perfect opportunity for a little father-son bonding and a repairing of that relationship.

Sounds like a meaty part that could return the Golden Globe winner to the awards circuit next year.
