MDNA Covered

It’s a week of Madonna up in here as far as I’m concerned, so, obviously, I just had to share the cover of the Queen of Pop’s upcoming MDNA album (yes, the periods between the letters are out again – were they ever really in, Guy Oseary?).

That photo gives major “Express Yourself” era huh.

Now click here to catch M on last nights Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Could she be any cuter?

I don’t think so.

Becks Gets Super

Leave it to David Beckham to draw attention to his body during football
’s biggest event.

The Super Bowl – that’s when the other kind of footballer’s (i.e., soccer player) TV spot for his H&M bodywear line will debut.

First Madonna and now this. Yes, I’d say Super Bowl XLVI will easily be the gayest one yet. Or, at least, the one watched by the most gays ever.

The Girl with the Pill Addiction

Sorry, Blake Lively
– it’s all about Rooney Mara.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo star has been cast as the depressed wife of a soon-to-be-released prisoner in Steven Soderbergh’s Side Effects instead of the actress o.k.a. Serena van der Woodsen.

Mara joins a cast that already includes Jude Law, Channing Tatum, and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Get Ready to L-U-V The Video!

Madonna’s video for
“Give Me All Your Luvin” has a release date, people.

Yes, a preview for the football-and-cheerleader-inspired video, directed by Megaforce, will debut during the Feb. 2 broadcast of TV’s American Idol.

Funny not The Voice, which airs on NBC, which will carry the Super Bowl this year, during which M will perform?

Anyway....

The single will drop the next day, so get your downloading fingers ready.

Writer Ex

Jennifer Connelly is finally starring in a movie I
’d be interested to see.

The Oscar winner is in talks to co-star in Writers as the ex-wife of a novelist (to, maybe, be played by Greg Kinnear). The indie project will follow their tricky relationship over the course of a year.

Hope this one has bite.

Production should get underway in March.

The Gayest K25

Kylie Minogue is celebrating 25 years in the music industry this year, and she is going to celebrate with her biggest fans
the gays! in just a couple of months.

Yup, Minogue will be the centerpiece of March’s Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, which will serve as a highlight of her own K25 – 25 Years of Kylie events.

Sweet!

And to get us all excited, especially her Aussies, the singer released a reworked orchestral version of “Finer Feelings” recorded at Abbey Road. Check it and love it here:

Doesn’t she sound (and look) just as fierce as evah?
Bomer for Blaine

So much for not having guests on this season, Glee (coming up next are Ricky Martin, Gloria Estefan, and Pitbull, plus Brian Stokes Mitchell and Jeff Goldblum as Rachel’s gay dads).

TV’s musical juggernaut has nabbed one of the mediums most addictively watchable stars, Matt Bomer (from USA Networks White Collar and the upcoming Magic Mike) to play the older brother of Darren Criss’ Blaine.

Bomer is expected to make his Glee debut in April.

Update: Wanna know what the brothers will likely be singing?

Glod Instead

Demi Moores loss is Sarah Jessica Parker
’s gain.

Now that the raven-haired actress has dropped out of Lovelace due to health issues (get well soon, Demi...really!), Sarah Jessica Parker has been tapped to play Gloria Steinheim in the upcoming, star-studded Linda Lovelace biopic starring Amanda Seyfried.

It had been reported that another Parker, Mary-Louise, would take over the part, but that was, well...wrong.

Some Spice for the Queen

The Spice Girls are readying another reunion.

And I’m dying....

Alright, I’m back.

Yes, according to Melanie Brown, a.k.a. Scary Spice, the quintet will get back together this summer for a very special performance at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

I think [that one] is the event I’d be looking at more closely for [a reunion] to happen,” instead of, say, the London Olympics, Brown said, before adding she is always for one such reunion.

I am going to be in such strife for saying that. It’s all so totally bloody top-secret still.

Well, not anymore, darling!

Sure hope this celebration will be televised.

Three Ms Tease

It’s coming soon: the time for us to get some M.D.N.A.
and I. Love. It.

To further whet our appetites, Madonna’s camp has released a 30-second clip of a studio session the Queen of Pop had with producer/DJ Martin Solveig and M.I.A. It shows the three Ms working on Ms upcoming single, “Give Me All Your Luvin,” which also features Nicki Minaj.

Check it out:

Never Wished I Was a Bed Before...

Michael Fassbender’s performance in the full-frontal-happy Shame sure has grabbed people
’s attention, huh.

That’s because it’s big.

The size of his talent, I mean.

Fassbenders performance surely will earn him a well-deserved Oscar nomination tomorrow morning, but its been his penis that has had everyones tongue wagging the past few days. Everyone from George Clooney to yours truly has had an opinion on the matter. And could we ignore it? After all, it begs to be addressed.

And those teasetastic powers that be at W magazine know just that – why else feature the It Actor in such a fantastic way in its latest issue, all bare on a bed...looking like hot, sexy s---.

The things that go through my mind when I see this picture....

(Down, boy.)

A Fairy Is Coming to Bon Temps

Y
all better get ready to be charmed by one Giles Matthey.

The up-and-comer (his IMDb page shows only one credit...a turn on TV’s The Good Wife) is set to take over the role of Clause on HBO’s True Blood during the show’s upcoming fifth season (another actor briefly embodied the character before).

Claude is described as hot (obviously) and mysterious, and just may catch the eye of another vamp (hint: she has red hair).

Trouble, trouble. Handsome trouble.

R.I.P. Ms. James

Soul and R&B legend Etta James has died at age 73.

The “At Last” singer had been battling terminal leukemia and suffering from dementia and Hepatitis C as well.

Among those in the music world mourning the passing of James today was Beyoncé, who actually played the singer in the 2008 movie Cadillac Records.

This is a huge loss,” she said. Etta James was one of the greatest vocalists of our time. She was fearless, and had guts. She will be missed.

The Papas of Rachel Berry

The powers that be over at Glee have cast Rachel Berry’s (Lea Michele) always-mentioned-never-seen gay dads, and they will not be played by Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig (as I have envisioned...GTS, too).

No, since one of them had to be African-America (a fact that always escaped me), the proud papas will be played by Tony Award-winning Broadway vet Brian Stokes Mitchell and Jeff Goldblum.

And the two have already been on set. Check out the pic Michele tweeted of the three of them. Could she look any more chuffed about her new co-stars?
